First Half Report - February 19, 2007
Soap Dish
With more twists and turns than a daytime soap opera, this Nets season has been marked by one word: inconsistency. Joe's got his take on the first half of this 2006 - 2007 Nets season, including grades for everyone, 10 things we've noticed, and the best and worst of the first half. Will anything change in the next week? Are Kidd and/or Carter moving on? Joe certainly hopes so, since it's time...Read on...

Binge And Purge
Finally, the illustrous Net career of Jeff McInnis is history. McInnis goes to the Charlotte Bobcats, along with cash, for G/F Bernard Robinson, who may not even stick around, depending on what else may come Trader Rod's way. The trade does get the Nets back under the salary cap, however, so regardless of Robinson's playing time, it comes as a benefit, and brings more future flexibility. Ryan wrote up a quick think piece on the trade, questioning whether the Nets acquired another Antoine Wright, and wondering if this is the final stop for Robinson.

The 2006 - 2007 Nets Preview - November 1, 2006
Summing It Up
Everyone, and I do mean everyone, seems to think the Nets are close, but not close enough, to being title contenders. Joe (with help from Ian Eagle, Frank DiGraci, Dave D'Alessandro, and Steve Politi) takes a look at the 2006 - 2007 Nets, examines this idea that the Nets are close, and comes up with his own prediction for these Nets: a return trip to the NBA Finals...How crazy is that? The 2006 - 2007 NBA Preview - October 29, 2006
In Search Of The Handle
The NBA was in need of a good PR handler after the Detroit - Indiana fight fiasco two years ago. Refocusing around the talent once again, but in a symbolic, empty gesture of change, the biggest news might be the new ball the NBA is using...so typical of a league in flux. Joe takes a look at the entire league and makes his picks for both conferences...Is it back to the days of the old ABA? Read on...

Name Game 2006
Here they are! My thanks to those who have contributed so far.

The roster had more than 50% turnover, so we're going to need your help again in giving nicknames to the 2006 - 2007 Nets in our annual Name Game! Yes, that's right - give the newbies a nickname that'll stick (or at least make us chuckle) and we'll get them all compiled. Email Joe with your best names (and yes, Bruce Ratner, Marv Albert and Mark Jackson are all fair game)...

The names are starting to trickle in...my new favorite:

Mile "He Be" Ilic - Duck

and
Jason "Twin Killing (me)" Collins - JNF
Boki "Hokey Pokey" Nachbar - Anthony Colaiemma
Mile Penicillc - Jeff Lawrence
Lawrence "The far side of the bench is reserved for the rookies" Frank - Matt D.

Keep 'em coming!
