Indiana Pacers (27 - 25) - Sunday, February 26, 2006, 6:00PM EST - Continental Airlines Arena
Off The Pace
It's hard to be a contender when three of your top players are out, and you can't win on the road. With Ron Artest gone, injuries to Jermaine O'Neal, Jamaal Tinsley, and Austin Croshere, and a gimpy Stephen Jackson, the Pacers are somewhat crippled these days, even with newly acquired Peja Stojackovic. Add to the story the road woes, where the Pacers have lost 6 straight, and you've got the makings of a team in need of someone to step up and bring home a win, any win.

The Nets, meanwhile, are rolling at home, where they've now won 14 of their last 15, and now they may have added a fourth weapon, Nenad Krstic, to the Big Three. Can the Nets keep things rolling by going the distance against the Pacers? Or will Indy set the pace and control a road win they desperately need?

The Story From Indianapolis:
Give credit to the Pacers, they're not using injuries or anything else as an excuse. Here's Indiana PG Anthony Johnson after the Pacers lost to the Pistons "One thing about the Indiana Pacers is that we don't make excuses," Johnson said. "When we beat them, they were like it was their fourth game in five nights and all that kind of (expletive). We don't do that; they just beat our (expletive). That's it. There's no other way to put it."

Pain Game: G Stephen Jackson (knee) is day-to-day; F Austin Croshere (concussion), F Jermaine O'Neal (groin) and G Jamaal Tinsley (elbow) are out.
